This is a watercolor painting of a young man. He is taking up most of the painting. He is leaning forward holding his phone. One hand is covering his face. He is wearing a turquoise blue button down shirt. He has light sandy brown hair and he is wearing a blue black beanie. Behind his is a industrial concrete and wood coffee shop. There are two windows. On the right there is a door. In front of the windows there is a brown wood bench. This is a contemporary realism painting by a Tacoma local woman. This painting takes place in the Bluebeard coffee shop in Tacoma.

A little bit about the painting

Great Expectations was the first large scale painting of mine that I considered to be professional. It represents a milestone and holds a lot of sentimental value. It is a painting about the weight of expectations when you're young and particularly when you're fresh out of high school.
